Who needs ELDT training?

In the United States, Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) certification is required for individuals who want to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and become drivers of large commercial vehicles. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has established a set of minimum training standards that must be met before an individual can obtain a CDL. The ELDT program is one of these standards.

Required before obtaining the CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit)

Once an individual has completed the ELDT program and obtained the necessary certification, they can then apply for their CDL and begin working as a commercial driver. ELDT is an important step in the process of becoming a commercial driver, as it helps ensure that new drivers have the knowledge and skills necessary to operate their vehicles safely and efficiently.
